This Privacy Policy describes how Autto Web Services Inc. (operating as PEAKTOW, "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you visit or make a purchase at peaktow.com (the "Store").

PEAKTOW is committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Quebec's Act Respecting the Protection of Personal Information in the Private Sector (Law 25), and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

Information you provide directly

When you place an order, create an account, or contact us, we may collect:

  • Payment information (processed securely by Shopify Payments — we do not store your full card details)
  • Order history and preferences
  • Any messages or communications you send us

Information collected automatically

When you visit our Store, we automatically collect certain information about your device and browsing behaviour, including:

  • Your IP address and approximate location
  • Browser type and operating system
  • Pages visited, time spent on pages, and referring URLs

Information from third parties

We may receive limited information about you from third-party services such as Meta (Facebook/Instagram) if you interact with our ads on those platforms.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Send marketing emails (with your consent) about new products, promotions, and updates — you can unsubscribe at any time

  • Show you relevant advertising on Meta platforms (Facebook and Instagram) through the Meta Pixel

3. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We share your data only with the service providers necessary to operate our Store:

Meta (Facebook/Instagram) — We use the Meta Pixel to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and to show relevant ads to people who have visited our Store. Meta may use this data in accordance with its own privacy policy. Meta's Privacy Policy

Email marketing provider — We use an email marketing service to send promotional emails to customers who have opted in. This provider processes your email address and name to deliver these communications on our behalf.

Shipping carriers — We share your name and delivery address with our shipping carriers to fulfill your order.

All third-party providers are contractually required to handle your data securely and only for the purposes we specify.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal information on the following grounds:

  • Contractual necessity — to fulfill the orders you place with us
  • Consent — for marketing emails and the use of non-essential cookies (you may withdraw consent at any time)
  • Legitimate interests — for fraud prevention, site security, and analytics to improve our Store

We send marketing emails only to customers who have given us their explicit consent, in compliance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

Every marketing email we send includes an easy unsubscribe link. You may also opt out at any time by contacting us at info@peaktow.ca. We will process your unsubscribe request promptly, within 10 business days.

Unsubscribing from marketing emails will not affect transactional emails related to your orders.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including to provide our Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Order information is typically retained for a minimum of 7 years in accordance with applicable tax and accounting laws. You may request deletion of your personal information at any time (see Section 8), subject to these retention requirements.

8. Your Rights

Under PIPEDA and Quebec's Law 25, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct any inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Withdraw consent for processing based on consent (such as marketing emails), at any time
  • Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal retention obligations
  • Data portability — request a copy of your personal information in a structured, commonly used format
  • Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) at priv.gc.ca or the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (CAI) at cai.quebec.ca

9. Data Security

We take reasonable precautions to protect your personal information against loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification. Our Store is hosted on Shopify, which maintains PCI-compliant infrastructure and industry-standard encryption (SSL/TLS) for data in transit.

While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. In the event of a privacy incident affecting your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and the appropriate regulatory authority as required by law.

10. International Data Transfers

Although PEAKTOW ships only within Canada, our third-party service providers (including Shopify, Google, and Meta) may store and process your data on servers located outside of Canada, including in the United States. By using our Store, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data protection laws than those in your province or territory of residence.

11. Children's Privacy

Our Store is not directed to individuals under the age of majority. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. We will post the revised policy on this page with an updated effective date. For material changes, we will notify you by email or by a prominent notice on our Store prior to the change taking effect.
